Detling News The Detling News is a monthly magazine delivered free to every home in the village. It is funded partly by the church and partly by the Parish Council. Bible Study and Prayer Group


This is an ecumenical group meeting usually on the second Monday of each month in members’ houses. The climate is relaxed and leadership is occasionally shared. Numbers to date average 5-7. Recent study has included 1 Corinthians, James and Ruth.  Prayers range widely over international, local and personal topics. All are welcome. Details J. Eckton

Friends of Detling Church


The Friends of Detling Church FUNdraise with an emphasis on the FUN! They aim to raise regular sums of money, specifically to maintain and improve the fabric of St. Martin’s Church by forming a membership and organising events and concerts.
Generally. about six events are organised each year, some of which are purely social occasions. Have you any ideas for raising funds to preserve our gem of a medieval church, an irreplaceable part of our heritage?

Detling Companions Pastoral Group


The ethos of this group is to help and support elderly people in the village.
There is a quarterly Tea Party held in the village hall and Coffee and Chat Mornings are held on a two monthly basis in a member’s home.
Pastoral care also includes taking Holy Communion to people at home or in retirement homes who are unable to get to church.
